GROZ-BECKERT
In May, FreyZein had the opportunity to visit Groz-Beckert, the world's leading supplier of industrial machine needles, precision parts and fine tools, as well as systems and services for the production and joining of textile fabrics.
Located at the heart of Albstadt, Germany, lies Groz-Beckert’s Technology and Development Center. This Center serves as a collaborative platform where innovation meets expertise: It offers state-of-the-art facilities, including specialized technical centers for various textile processes as well as advanced laboratories. Despite its foundation in 1852 and a portfolio of over 70.000 products, the company remains in family hands.

Led by Groz-Beckert’s head of R&D, Fabian Stauss, FreyZein’s team was given a 360° tour of the premises, with a particular focus on the Technical Center Nonwovens. While automated machines take care of processes from fiber opening and cleaning to carding, the in-house pilot line allows for unconventional approaches and advanced experimenting, enabling innovators like FreyZein to steadily push the boundaries of what’s possible and test their innovations on an industrial scale. In this case, FreyZein’s goal was to explore scaling opportunities for our innovative, aerocellulose-infused nonwoven thermal insulation TerraDown™, while strengthening local partnerships.
